Review: Starr Fall

Book: Starr Fall

Author: Kim Briggs

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Starr is a normal teenager with a busy schedule. She does everything in her power to study hard so she can get into one of the best colleges. She hears about a test, which if she passes can get her college acceptance confirmed. The test does not turns out to be her worst decision ever. As soon as she passes her test she’s running for her life. Apparently the test is some sort of setup they had arranged for her. They’ve been monitoring her for years now and want to train to be an assassin. Starr being the normal teenager that she is can never even imagine killing a bird let alone a human. On the run she is accompanied by her school crush Christian who vows to keep her safe, Starr is overwhelmed by the situation she is in and makes it her life goal to make the organization to pay for what they’ve done to her. To only good thing that came out of this entire situation was that she and Christian fell in love. But that scares her, because he is the most dearest thing she holds as of now and she is afraid if the organization finds that they will use it to their advantage.

What can i say about this book? Im a sucker for romance and the craving romance in this book had me hooked! I read it all in one go! 💜 i loved how sassy Starr’s character is, she assesses every situation like an assassin would, and i love how Christian and Starr got so close, i was almost going to skip to the part where they confess their feelings! (But i was patient, surprisingly)

Book review: Caraval

Book: Caraval

Author: Stephanie Garber

Publisher: Hodder Books

Buddy Read: Thebookierookieblog

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Caraval is a circus/ magic show sort of an annual function. It is known to trick people with magic and illustrations. It is invitation only so people who want to go and/or perform need to be invited by the it’s master “Legend”. Every year Caraval has a task for its players and only one lucky person who achieves the task is granted a very special prize. Scarlett has been dreaming of going to Caraval since she can remember. Every year she used to write a letter to Master Legend pleading for him to send an invitation so she can see for herself if her grandma’s magical stories about Caraval are true. When Scarlett turns 17 her father arranges for her to get married but at the same time Scarlett receives an invitation for Caraval. She receives three tickets, one for her sister Donatella, and for herself and on for her fiancé. Scarlett is terrified because she has never left this island and whenever she has tried she has been beaten up by her abusive father. However, her sister Scarlett being a trouble maker arranges for her sister and herself to get off the island. But instead of her Fiancé, Donatella and Scarlett sneak out to visit Caraval with the help of a guy named Julian. But as soon as she reaches the island she finds out her sister Donatella has been kidnapped. And this year’s Caraval task is to find her sister Donatella. Scarlett will do anything to get back her sister back, as she plays the dangerous game full of illusions and tricks she realizes Caraval is not what she thought it would be. And her sister’s life might be in danger after all.

Caraval is a fantasy/romance/YA book, it was a really different read for me. Once i was done reading it I didn’t really know which book to compare it with because I haven’t really read anything similar before. But thanks to Caraval i will definitely read more books of this sort. Caraval was such an easy read, i loved the writing style of this book and i just loved atmospheric feels that this book had.
I can definitely see myself reading this book again and yes i will for sure read its second book whenever it comes out.

Review: A court of Mist and Fury

Books: A court of Mist and Fury

Author: Sarah J. Maas

Publisher: Bloomsbury

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Feyre has saved her love Tamlin from the wrath of Amarantha, they return to Spring Court and pretend the event of Under the Mountain never happened. Feyre thinks she can live with that. The dreams that haunt will go eventually but as Tamlin forces to keep her locked away convincing himself she is safe that way. Feyre’s new immortal body acts out. After three months of no contact Rhysand, The high lord of the Night Court shows up on their wedding day and takes her away to keep the bargain. Feyre needs to learn to control her powers but Tamlin refuses. Rhysand offers Feyre safe haven. But Rhysands charm starts working on Feyre and she starts falling for him but is it love? or just lust? In the midst of this there is a war coming. Rhysand helps Feyre learn her powers and take control of them so she can help with whats coming. With the help of her amazing powers Feyre helps Rhys and his inner circle prepare for war. To protect Humans and the people of Prythian. She’s forced to go through a leap of faith. Everyone she ever loved will be presented to her as a test. Who will chose to betray? Who will she give her heart to? How will she win?

I LOVEDD this book of the #ACOTAR series! I shipped Tamlin and Feyre so hard in the first book and i was so confused as to how could they possibly make the readers ship Feyre and Rhys more? How could be possibly be capable of loving someone else more? But SJM did it! the story is perfection! I am so happy to be in fandom and i can’t wait to be done with the third book of the series #ACOWAR. Can we pleaseee make a series or a movie out of this?! and please without any changes or advancements! the series is perfect just the way it is! Would love to see Rhys and Feyre and his inner circle!!
Here an illustration from the amazing @charliebowater (you can find her on instagram and twitter) of the inner circle!

Yes I know, Cauldron boil me, Mother help me… this is just too perfect for my eyes and heart!..

Fav bookish character: Feyre

Illustration of #feyre 😍 this is so pretty and a slight image of what i had in mind! 😍 awesome work done by @charliebowater on instagram, she also has a picture of Rhysand, Tamlin, Lucien, Mor and all other characters from #acowar #acomaf #acotar 😍💃🏻

.

.

Which bookish character would you like to illustrate? Mine was Clary, Jace and Simon from the #themortalinstruments series and i think the movie #cityofbones perfectly picked those characters 😍

A story about a 18 year old Ben – a writer and Fallon – an actress. They meet on her last day in LA, before she leaves she meets Ben under unexpected funny circumstances. Since she is leaving they agree to meet every year same day, same time, same place for 5 years. That way Fallon would pursue her career and Ben would have a story to write.

For Fallon the day shes resented the most for two years becomes the day she most looks forward to now. Just because she gets to see Ben. They both fall in love one day at a time and are careful not to waste any minute, second of the day they meet. But alot can change in a year and that scares them both.
